About - Strategy, Planning & Resources in Faculty of Fine Arts & Music

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music is home to the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Our dedicated faculty offers a wide range of disciplines, including composition, dance, design, film and television, jazz and improvisation, music performance, theatre, and visual arts.

Strategy and Planning services include development, coordination and operationalising of Faculty strategic, business and risk management plans, development and monitoring of the Faculty's workforce plan, monitoring and reporting on Faculty performance and support for cross-functional planning, projects and operations


About the Role


The Business Administration Coordinator in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music leads a small team providing business administration services including employment contract support.

Responsibilities include managing workflow, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and building effective relationships across the University.

The role reports to the Manager of Strategy, Planning and Resources and involves leadership and development of two direct reports.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the provision of academic casual contracting services
  • Lead the provision of Independent Contractor Agreement services including liaison with the University's Human Resources and Finance Business Services and third party service providers
  • Lead change within the Faculty including ensuring documentation and multichannel communication
  • Support the development of administrative selfserve knowledge and capability across the Faculty
  • Participate in allocated project and improvement activity, both within the Strategy, Planning and Resources team and across Faculty portfolios


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Administration Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality business administration services, managing a team, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders across the University.

About You
You will be an energetic leader who is passionate about leading a team in a changing operational landscape. Your experience designing and communicating processes and systems will lead to strong outcomes for staff and contractors. You will be a strong communicator and accomplished problem-solver who is very much a team player.


You will also have:

  • A qualification in a relevant field of study and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education / training
  • Demonstrated management experience in business administration with a track record of delivering with a high level of attention to detail
  • Developed judgement and case management skills and commitment to high quality client service and continuous improvement
