Description

As the Manager (Heavy Vehicle Reform) you will be leading a team with responsibility for developing and delivering national heavy vehicle reform policies and projects for the benefit of Queensland industry and communities.


Accountabilities include:


  • Oversee the conduct of highlevel policy research and analysis, and provide direction to the identification, development, implementation, evaluation and continued improvement of national policy and legislative frameworks for heavy vehicles.
  • Critically analyse and formulate Queensland's position on a range of national heavy vehicle reform projects, including the development of Queensland's position on national heavy vehicle policy and legislation reform proposals.
  • Oversee and report on the effective delivery of national reform projects for Queensland to senior executives and the Minister.
  • Develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including interest groups, other government agencies (federal, state and local) and the general public, and represent the department or government on committees and working groups.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of complex documents including reports, briefing notes, submissions, departmental and other correspondence.
  • Provide authoritative and specialist advice relating to legislation and/or policy frameworks administered by the division.
  • Manage and/or coordinate the resources of the work unit to ensure that business outcomes, performance indicators, project deliverables and deadlines are achieved.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a high performance culture by dealing with performance issues as they arise, providing development opportunities to the team, becoming involved in the induction of new officers, mentoring staff and acting at all times as a model of best professional behaviour.
  • Promote and ensure compliance of work or project team(s) with public sector legislation, standards, policies, practices and procedures relating to human, financial and physical resources.
This role reports to the Director (Heavy Vehicle Policy).
