The Role
The EL 1 Program Controller within the Romeo Enterprise Office is accountable, under broad direction, for leading a team to perform and achieve policy, program, governance and strategic management outcomes and support senior executives in program management practices.
In this role the EL1 Program Controller will:
- Have a considerable level of strategic awareness, stakeholder engagement and will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in relation to complex issues;
- See them harness and learn technical knowledge in the management of program schedules, risk and financial management;
- Be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve Defence outcomes; and
- Be required to work across the complex naval aviation programs to assist in delivering outcomes for the Romeo enterprise.
The EL1 SEA9100PH1 Business Operations Manager will be involved in expanding the current fleet of MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Naval Helicopters.
- Commercial and Procurement Management;
- Financial and Budget Management;
- Project Schedule management;
- Risk Management; and
- Reporting, Business Systems and Records Management.
The Business Operations Manager must have a good understanding of CASG Corporate Performance and Governance functions and knowledge of Foreign Military Sales processes would be an advantage.
About our Team
The MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Helicopter Program is a high profile Defence Capability which entered service in 2014.
The program is valued at over $6 billion and comprises of acquisition (AIR9000PH8 and SEA9100PH1), sustainment (CN35) and upgrade elements of the MH-60R capability (SEA5510).
Once fully delivered, the Romeo Enterprise Office will be responsible for managing 36 MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Helicopters capable of operating from current and future Navy warships.
The Romeo Enterprise Office comprises team members in multiple domestic and international locations primarily including Canberra, ACT, Nowra, NSW and the United States of America.
The Project Controller and SEA91000PH1 Business Operations Manager will be:
- Accountable to ensure program level practices and procedures are applied to the Romeo enterprise.
- Accountable to provide well considered advice for program monitoring and controlling, including providing guidance on work breakdown structure development and variance identification and reporting.
- Develop and implement program and project briefs, and schedules, for the senior management using a range of tools and techniques.
- Motivate and project clear direction to Romeo schedulers on performance monitoring and control techniques.
- Conduct regular reviews on the risks, costs and schedules and provide solutions to address any deficiencies.
