Our client, a leading recycling and waste management company, is looking for an experienced and passionate

NSW Saftey Manager to join their team in

Eastern Creek.
Reporting to the Head of Safety to provide high-level functional safety leadership and support to the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise, mentor, and manage two direct reports
  • Assist in the development and facilitate the implementation of the company Safety Strategy and supporting Tactical plan
  • Direct involvement and guidance in the investigation of all major incidents
  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions have been implemented to prevent reoccurrence
  • Investigate and develop effective Injury Management strategies that assist Saftey Business Partners & Business Unit Managers to proactively manage employees on workers' compensation
  • Coordinate appointment and assignment of safety resources and ensure Service Level Agreements are implemented with Business Unit Managers
  • Actively participate in industrybased forums
  • Monitor safety compliance by audit, inspection, and observation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safetyrelated training modules
  • Actively engage and partner with the business, including meeting with team members at their worksites.
  • Regular local and occasional interstate travel

About you...

Experience

  • Proven experience within the mining, construction, waste management, resource recovery, manufacturing, and/or engineering industry at a senior level
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation programs, claims management, and premium calculations
  • Working with digital incident management systems

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Behavioural Sciences or relevant areas
  • Lead Auditor in Safety Management Systems (ISO 45000)
