About the Role

As a Technical Advisor, you will:

  • Actively contribute to the development and delivery of best practice funding management to meet program control measures and stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure Queensland interests are represented when providing consistent, timely and accurate technical and policy advice when required to internal and key external stakeholders.
  • Provide effective issues identification, solutions, and management strategies to mitigate technical and delivery risk, working collaboratively with experienced, trained, and skilled colleagues, briefing as required.
  • Undertake complex inhouse and infield assessments, providing technical advice (where required) to build external stakeholder capability and to ensure effective delivery of specified programs of work.
  • Be available for deployment at short notice to support activities throughout the state and interstate as required, such as postdisaster infield assessments in disasteraffected areas throughout the state and interstate as required.
  • Work at times in remote areas and under limited supervision, using a high level of initiative to resolve issues.

About You

As a Technical Assessor, you will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying or other relevant disciplines
  • RPEQ registration
  • Demonstrated professional level of expertise in civil infrastructure assessments.
  • Roads and highways
  • Drainage
  • Bridges
  • Water/sewerage
  • Project / Program Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project / program and contract management for civil infrastructure projects
  • Cost Analysis
  • Demonstrated experience of cost interpretation within a civil construction environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to undertake complex technical analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and proactive approach
  • A willingness to work in remote areas and at short notice
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

The Benefits
- $ $89.82 per hour + super (paid weekly)

  • Fulltime 40 hours per week (Monday
  • Friday)
  • 12month casual contract, with possible extension of an additional 2 years
  • Contribute to the restoration and infrastructure reconstruction within disasteraffected communities
  • Brisbane CBD location
