About The Project - Sydney Metro West, Eastern Tunnelling Package Works:

Sydney Metro West is a new 24-kilometre metro line that will connect Greater Parramatta with the Sydney CBD via stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street (Sydney CBD).

Stage 2 of the planning approval process, the Eastern Tunnelling Package Works, includes all major civil construction work including station excavation (Pyrmont Station and Hunter Street Station (Sydney CBD) and tunnelling between The Bays and Sydney CBD


About The Role:


We're looking for an experienced
Traffic Engineer to design, develop, implement, and monitor traffic management plans and controls on the Eastern Tunnelling Package Works project.

Reporting to the Traffic Manager, this is a key role on our project, where you will engage with clients and key stakeholders to ensure JCG JV is represented in a highly competent and professional way.


Responsibilities of the role include;:


  • Design, develop, implement and monitor Construction Traffic Management Plans and controls in similar high speed, high volume traffic environments
  • Book, coordinate and manage Traffic Controllers
  • Ensure that all traffic management works are carried out to highest Safety standards.
  • Work closely with the design team and construction team to develop best for project outcomes for all required traffic staging
  • Develop Traffic Guidance Schemes & Construction Traffic Management Plans in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identifications and document controls
  • Coordinating with internal staff and external consultants to develop and refine all construction traffic management plans
  • Implementing ongoing compliance and safety audits. Ensure appropriate road safety audits are carried out as per the requirements of the project deed
  • Engaging with the project team (Engineering and Supervisory) ensuring all plans are concise, clear and deliverable
  • Carrying out daily and weekly inspections of all traffic management on site during delivery

About you:


  • Experienced as a Traffic or Transport Engineer working on major civil construction projects for a contractor or consultancy
  • Proven experience in Traffic Management Design, with an ability to work in a team environment, focussing on a safety first culture
  • Strong data management, analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Effective in technical problemsolving skills
  • Solution driven to undertake investigation and assessment of traffic related issues
  • A clear and concise written and oral communication skills, an ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
