About the role:

We are currently seeking early and mid-career Social Consultants to join our national team.

All our team are highly trained and experienced in undertaking community research, social impact assessment and community engagement programs in all community contexts - urban and rural / remote communities - for a variety of scales of projects and sectors across Australia.


Our team is led nationally by our Social Practice Lead an experienced SIA Practitioner - Dr Sheridan Coakes - who has over 25 years research and applied experience in the social space across Australia, having been involved in numerous high profile development projects for both government and private sector clients.


The key responsibilities for this position include:

- ollation, analysis, and recording of social, economic, and demographic datasets, using both qualitative and quantitative information, using publicly available datasets as well as information collected through primary research methods such as through survey work Q
- uantitative data analysis using Microsoft Excel and generation of summaries of findings P
- reparation of socio-economic analysis and investigations tailored to the needs of individual projects to understand and assess the effects of planned change on people, communities, local economies, and societies, C
- ontributing to the preparation of social impact assessments, community needs assessments and other socio-economic research related activities, with opportunity to lead the authoring of studies, work programs, and management of the project as appropriate P
- rovision of strategic advice on social or local economic issues, stakeholder and community concerns and project-related social impacts A
- ssisting with the preparation for and coordination of community engagement activities, such as through development of engagement materials, and reporting outcomes of stakeholder engagement activities for large-scale development projects P
- reparation of written briefings and reports using robust social science methodologies A
- ctive participation in internal team activities through the provision of ideas and feedback

bout you:


We are looking for Social Consultants looking to take the next step by working as part of a highly experienced and dynamic team working on a diverse suite of projects across multiple industry sectors.

In this role you will develop your project management and technical skills.


You will have:

  • A
- degree qualification in Planning, Geography, Human Geography, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences and / or Social Planning (or related discipline) Q
- uantitative data analysis skills and proficiency working in Excel K
- nowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods S
- trong communication skills - written and verbal - and ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic and geographically diverse team P
- revious consulting experience and project management capability is highly desirable S
- patial mapping and geographical expertise is preferred E
passion for integrating social practice in broader environmental planning and decision-making processes
