Our client is 100% Australian owned and operated, who's products are marketed worldwide. They have established themselves as a market leader in process and manufacturing.

We're currently seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to join their team in Young in this exciting role.

The Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the WHS and Training systems including:


  • The accurate and effective implementation of the SHEQ and training systems.
  • Ensuring operational compliance of and with those systems through maintenance and monitoring; and
  • Advising and supporting other internal stakeholders to integrate these requirements within operations.

The role:


  • Monitoring and mentoring trainers and supervisors in training and WHS best practice and guide them to
effective action.

  • Planning and coordinating the organisational training plans in consultation with other key personnel.
  • Conduct on site auditing/inspections/risk activities
  • Plan, implement and monitor reporting activities for training and WHS to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure appropriate information is available to make business decisions.
  • Review WHS and training materials to ensure currency, accuracy, and compliance with legislative and operational requirements.
  • Assist with annual WHS Reviews, internal and external audits and follow up actions/outcomes.
  • Review of WHS documentation from external parties where required to support operational needs and ensure compliance.
  • Undertake specific projects as defined by the Group Manager
  • People and Safety.
  • Participate in consultative activities as they relate to the above responsibilities.
  • Coordinate, and participate in Risk Management activities including Incident Investigation, risk assessments and operational advice.
  • Ensure the accurate and appropriate record keeping and management for both systems.
  • Assist in the development of Work Instructions and Procedures to ensure that all factors are considered and
included.


What we're looking for:


  • WHS Certificate IV (minimum)
  • Trainer & Assessor Certificate IV (desirable)
  • Quality Auditing qualification (OHS Management Systems) (desirable)
  • Experience in the development and implementation of WHS documentation
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training and assessment materials (desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a WHS focused role
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Risk Management activities including risk assessments
  • Proven experience in the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of systems of work including WHS.
  • Demonstrated experience in Training and Assessment in a labour workforce.
  • Experience with contractor management.
  • Working knowledge of Safety and Training requirements and legislation.
  • They need a handson approach
  • A willingness to enter and be present in production areas.
  • Highlevel commitment to Quality and Safety
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish strong links with key stakeholders as well as the ability to negotiate effectively and work through issues constructively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
