About the roles
The ACIC are seeking to fill two State Director positions - State Director, NSW and State Director, QLD.
State Directors are key leadership roles responsible for enabling ACIC capability and regional coordination, liaison and management of the ACIC's activities in their respective offices.
State Directors lead a diverse group of professionals in support of the ACIC's role as Australia's national criminal intelligence agency.
You will be a pivotal and active member of the ACIC's national executive leadership team who will contribute to the ACIC's strategic positioning by delivering on business and by converting vision into strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Jurisdictional oversight and delivery of the ACIC's intelligence operations outcomes
- Coordination of assigned national units and management of personnel
- Oversight and responsibility for operational relationships with relevant state and territory agency operational personnel
- Management of strategic agency relationships with senior state and territory stakeholders, including engaging in matters of shared interest at the senior executive level
- As a member of the Intelligence Operations Prioritisation Forum, deliver on behalf of, and in collaboration with, ACIC National Managers operational and project outputs occurring within the geographical location
- Contribute to national operational policy formulation and coordinate response planning as appropriate
- Strategic planning and implementation of agency initiatives, in relation to Organisational Wellbeing and Cultural Competency, budget, workforce, learning and development, physical and technology infrastructure, security and integrity.
- Demonstrated and well-developed senior leadership experience and associated skills and an understanding of public policy and privacy issues in the national intelligence or law enforcement sector
- A demonstrated and deep understanding of contemporary Serious and Organised Crime threats and related operational strategy
- Acute political awareness
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a nationally cohesive Divisional leadership team
- Recognised relationshipbuilding skills across the public, private, law enforcement sectors and National Intelligence Community, including at the senior executive level
- A talent for identifying, embracing and driving the adoption of innovative methods and practices
- Exemplary experience in public administration including strategic planning, particularly in relation to people, technology, security and budget.

- The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
