About the Position


We are seeking an enthusiastic, community minded and process driven person to join the Community Partnerships team until the end of July 2024.


Reporting to the Community Partnerships Team Leader, the Community Partnerships Officer is responsible for developing and promoting relationships within the Monash community that strengthen community capacity, as well as assisting with the delivery of Council's grant programs.


The role will help provide support, foster community cohesion and encourage active participation in civic life through identifying and strengthening partnerships to build community capacity and creating connections with and between community groups.

Skills and Experience

Tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, community planning, social science or other related field, or relevant experience.

The ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals, community groups, volunteers and professionals.

Knowledge, skills and experience in community development, planning processes and project management.

Skills in critical and analytical thinking and problem solving.

An ability to prioritise workloads and manage time effectively to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong presentation skills and the ability to engage and motivate a diversity of participants/stakeholders.

Intermediate computer skills - a knowledge of Smarty Grants would be advantageous.


Requirements:

Current Victorian drivers licence (desired)

Employee Working with Children's Check

Satisfactory National Police Check; and

Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
