The Rail Lubrication Team Leader is responsible for the delivery of inspections, maintenance, and renewals tasks of rail lubrication through effective self-performance and strong accountable leadership of their team and collaboration with MTM management.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead corrective, routine and preventative maintenance activities associated with rail lubrication assets
  • Complete all necessary reports, material returns, timesheets, requisitions and claim forms
  • Lead the team and coach and develop staff to build capability of the Way Maintainers and Assistant Team Leaders.
  • Administer staff roster, attendance, timekeeping activities and complete timesheets according to
  • Finance and Planning
  • Plan resources to ensure works are delivered as efficiently as possible
  • Manage roster for team including any additional staff necessary to cover staff absences
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the appropriate Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Regulations and Metro Trains policies and procedures
  • Holds and maintains the required competency and confidence to certify track post works/incident or when required
  • 5 years track work experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in rail lubrication
  • Rail Infrastructure Certificate II (core)
  • Rail Infrastructure (Rail Maintenance) Certificate III
  • Full and current driver's license
  • Good computer and smart device (i.e. iPad) skills. Emails for effective communication, MS word, excel and outlook
  • Must be available to work reasonable overtime, including emergency overtime
