This role is responsible for commercial data analysis, supporting the Commercial Property team with business case development and long-term forecasting (20 years).

The role will be responsible for maintaining the property and retail long-term models and play the conduit between the business and the commercial and investment modelling team.

The role will also develop financial models to support business case development for property and retail developments.

With the aviation and travel sector booming in 2023, on top of major projects that will underpin the future growth and development of Melbourne Airport and Victoria as a whole, now is a very exciting time to join

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Budgeting and forecasting:

Work with business development (property), leasing (retail) and finance stakeholders to update key assumptions within the property and retail long term models (20 year forecast) biannually.
Be a conduit between the Commercial Property Commercial and Financial team and the corporate Commercial and Investment Modelling team, ensuring inputs are provided for the biannual long term model refresh
Present an overview of key assumptions and outcomes to senior stakeholders including the SLT.

Business case development:

Work with business development (property) and leasing (retail) stakeholders to establish business case assumptions
Create financial models to calculate key business case metrics, IRR, NPV and pay back period
Present an overview of key assumptions and outcomes to senior stakeholders including the SLT.

Business Cases

Provide ad hoc support to the corporate Commercial and Investment Modelling team to continuously improved the corporate longterm model
Develop and maintain retail performance reporting (sales and revenue) to drive retailer performance
Support the development Power BI reporting where required.
Ability to interpret data and information and provide analysis on the business.
Experience developing and maintaining complex financial models
Advanced excel skills
Experience in developing and using Power BI reports
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Commerce related degree desirable but not essential.
Demonstrated ability in developing productive relationships and managing and driving change desirable but not essential.
