Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers Finance, Audit, Treasury, Investor Relations, Security, General Procurement and Property.


Group Treasury Finance (GT Finance) provides:

  • Essential management accounting, product control support and liquidity reporting for Group Treasury Front Office trading and policy teams including: Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Group Funding & Liquidity, and Capital & Regulatory Strategy desks; and
  • Transfer Pricing and Hedge Accounting implementation and management reporting for business units, including Group Treasury;
As part of GT Finance, the TP Finance and Liquidity Reporting team is responsible for the:

  • Implementation and management of the Group's funds transfer pricing process for our internal customers and collaborating with our business partners to implement changes;
  • Financial reporting for the TP Pools;
  • Management reporting of key Liquidity metrics on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.
Your impact will consist of delivering timely, complete, and accurate data for liquidity reporting.

This role will consist of ensuring that risk processing has successfully completed and generated results for daily liquidity reporting.

Meeting these undertakings requires detailed analysis and interpretation of the Bank's balance sheet, balance sheet setting, and tools that take into account the changing regulatory and liability landscape.


Do work that matters

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take accountability for the daytoday management of the securities financing liquidity risk reporting including:
  • Monitor daily dashboard reporting and analyze unusual movements and breaches;
  • Liaise with Global Security Financing (GSF) business across global locations to understand team activities, business changes and trends;
  • Work with Risk and Policy teams to understand security financing activities impacts on Group Liquidity metrics including LCR, NSFR and early warning indicators;
  • Continually adapt processes to accommodate new GSF products/systems/locations thereby championing productivity improvements and best practice. Liaise with the wider team and leverage existing technologies;
  • Engage with Risk and Policy teams to refresh the Liquidity Stress Testing framework, in line with APRA recommendations;
  • Contribute to large and complex projects with an emphasis on data, system and treasury management needs. Liaise with the wider team with respect to the APRA Liquidity data collection initiative and upcoming APS210 review to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data, change management and reporting requirements;
  • Transpose reporting and analytical outcomes into graphical and clearly written summaries to effectively communicate insights for senior management and support the delivery of papers for committees and forums.

We're interested in hearing from people who
have

  • Higher tertiary education with relevant major such as maths, economics, finance or accounting
  • Accounting qualifications beneficial but not essential
  • An understanding of banking products, balance sheet management and treasury/finance systems with experience gained from ideally 1 to 5yrs in a Treasury, Risk or Finance role within a commercial banking environment
  • Strong Excel, VBA, Tableau and SQL literacy with proficiency in macro programming, modelling and database interrogation
  • Liquidity risk reporting prior experience is preferable.
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrating independent thought and critical thinking
  • Preparedness to work in a small team with very tight deadlines
