Your tasks and responsibilities:

Supervision of loading and unloading of cargo at the port, including sophisticated documentation

• Technical coordination and management at the port of all related activities as a single point of contact, such as for the vessel crew, the captain, stevedores and other stakeholders (client, etc.)
• Troubleshooting/management of material movement issues during transit, including liaison with local authorities and the client
• Ensuring that company QHSES standards as well as local regulations are followed during the operations
• Review, evaluation and commenting of method statements, and executing plans
• Performing risk assessments
• Holding preoperations meetings and toolbox talks
• Development of softwaresupported stowage plans
• Development of AutoCAD drawings for lifting and lashing
• Calculations of lifting stability and capacity
• Calculations for lashing and securing on the vessel based on IMO and DNV regulations
• Drawing up transport solutions, concepts and feasibility studies for heavy lifts and overdimensional cargo
• Performing port surveys, with a focus on infrastructure and port capabilities
• Playing an active part in risk mitigation measures to ensure a zeroharm environment and safe operations

What you can contribute:

• Naval, maritime or heavy lift / project cargo degree or similar
• 3 years of experience as a port captain, supercargo or in a similar roll within the transportation industry, with a focus on project cargo or heavy haul, overdimensional, super load or abnormal load operations (100+ MT)
• Proven knowledge of loading, lashing and vessel operations
• Profound knowledge of QHSES rules and regulations in ports and onboard vessels
• Good knowledge of standard industry software (AutoCAD, etc.) is desired but not mandatory
• Knowledge in welding is desired
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Clientfacing attitude with good communication skills
• Independent "can do" work attitude, and ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Solutiondriven way of working and the ability to think outside the box
• Ability to build relationships with third parties, such as haulers, stevedores, but especially the vessel crew and the captain
• Team player and adherent to the reporting line
• Report writing skills
• Ability to travel (50%)
