About Us


Working within the Planning and Strategy Office as part of the greater Property Development and Commercial Services Office (PDCSO), the role provides services for campus master planning, space planning, and capital project planning for Murdoch University.


The Planning and Strategy Office is responsible for the programming of capital works, portfolio management, sustainability initiatives, campus activation, space planning, urban infrastructure, managing space inventory, timetabling and provision of learning environments.

The Role


Focusing within the Space Information area; the role is responsible for the maintaining of the University's architectural and engineering services drawing management system and associated databases, to ensure the campus space information accurately reflects the physical campus.

Further, you will be responsible for data integrity of associated space management systems (Archibus, SISFM) and ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the drawing inventory via accepted drawing standards and conventions.


On a day-to-day basis you will be:

  • Assisting with the inputting of information into the space management and reporting systems, ensuring all information accurately reflect the physical campus.
  • Maintaining the University architectural and engineering drawing management system including the development and management of change control procedures.
  • Audit building master drawings, As Constructed drawings, and capital works archives to ensure compliance with university policies and standards. This includes detailed auditing of master drawing polylines to ensure they are correctly rendered, and associated databases are correctly reporting area linkages.
  • Create drawings to support minor works, provide room layout drawings, capacity assessments and other layout designs as requested.
What you'll bring to this role

  • Degree/Qualifications or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training specialising in CAD/BIM/GIS.
  • Extensive experience using AutoCAD systems and managing complex drawing files in an architectural/engineering services context.
  • High level computer literacy, particularly in the configuration of space management databases and CAD software.
