Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an experienced MSL with a passion for cardiovascular medicine to join our incredible team.

The MSL will support the BMS Cardiovascular Pipeline by identifying and mapping Thought Leaders (TLs), providing medical education through TL interactions, gathering and understanding insights, and supporting clinical trial activity.

A key focus will be cardiomyopathy, therefore experience in this therapeutic area will be preferred.


Responsibilities:


  • External Environment and Customer Focus
  • Identify, develop and maintain strong working relationships with a key TLs gathering insights on current and future disease management and scientific perspectives including unmet clinical needs. Help understand insights gathered from scientific conversations to inform medical activities and clinical research locally and globally, as well as internal stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Engage in scientific dialogue around current and emerging data through field visits, presentations and discussions and at scientific congresses. It is anticipated that a MSL will spend up to 80 percent of their time engaged with external customers with the balance of the time spent as a valued member of the BMSA medical team.
  • Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in disease management, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities.
  • Establish professional and corporate credibility with TLs by developing and implementing strategic engagement plans that incorporate the interests of the TL.
  • Implement the Medical Plan
  • Drive development of the key TL Interaction plans in collaboration with Manager.
  • Be a proactive member of the BMSA medical team providing field medical insights and contributions.
  • Help develop, and deliver flawlessly, medical activities such as medical education and research discussions.
  • Focus on better patient outcomes through innovation and simplification of all activities.
  • Identify and train potential speakers for BMS educational programs.
  • Contribute towards the development and implementation Account Plans in an appropriate way.
  • Establish shortterm and longterm objectives that focus on building strategy.
  • Support Clinical Trial Activities
  • Support Regional Clinical Operations (RCO) including input on study feasibility, identification and assessment of potential study sites, facilitate BMS and investigator activities, and conduct site visits to support patient recruitment and/or discussions as needed.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to Global Clinical Operations on study and site feasibilities within the therapeutic area based on knowledge of the field and through direct contacts with potential investigators.
  • Ensure that BMS Pharmacovigilance procedural documents are understood and applied by Investigators of local studies, and alert appropriate BMS personnel to any identified Adverse Events.
  • Actively support CRO sponsored studies as appropriate.
  • Provide medical support to RCO to transition patients from clinical trial to marketed and/or reimbursed supply of drug, where required and as appropriate.

Qualifications, experience and competencies:


  • Medical doctor (physician), PharmD or PhD equivalent, or Science graduate with substantial and relevant pharmaceutical experience
  • Experience working in cardiology strongly preferred
  • Prior MSL experience preferred
  • Working in a medical, scientific and/or clinical research environment
  • Discussing scientific or clinical data to help understand medical and scientific insights from physicians to improve patient outcomes
  • Effectively listening, communicating and presenting scientific and/or clinical data to research or healthcare professionals
