THE ROLE


Reporting to the Regional Manager - Gas and Renewables Asset Operations - South, your new role is a site based operational leadership role that sits within the Gas and Renewables (G&R) Asset Operations Leadership Team.

You'll provide cultural and strategic leadership at the asset and showcase demonstrable knowledge and expertise in operational leadership.

The role is responsible for focusing the business on its core priorities which include:

  • Responsible for the safe operation of the facility within operating envelopes and regulatory approvals
  • Delivering asset performance through the effective development and execution of the Site Asset Strategy
  • Perform Acting Regional Manager G&R role, and Delegated Authority as required
  • Development and accountability for delivery of site business processes and performance outcomes including people, plant performance, budget, risk, compliance, and community
  • Through collaborative leadership, responsibility for leading the development and maintenance of positive site culture and team engagement, underpinned by Origin's key Principles, Values and Commitments
  • Managing EBIT performance, Budget, and Capital Investment to meet targets
  • Managing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships such as local government, regulatory and community
  • Prioritization, planning and organizing activities at site to deliver the 1 year Asset Management Plans, while supporting the development of 03 year plans
  • The continued development of site resources and core competencies to support G&R broader crossteam capabilities, while supporting personal and professional development
  • Building and maintaining relationships across Origin and leading industry groups
  • Overall responsibility and leadership for Health Safety and Environment on site including emergency response
  • Responsibility for direct management of all site staff inclusive of staff development and performance systems

To be considered for this role you will be an exceptional people and cultural leader, have the ability to lead a high performing small team to interpret business requirements aligned with strategies, as well as having excellent stakeholder management skills.


You can show, through the work you've done:

  • Communicating, collaborating, influencing others and positively changing team and business behaviours and/or motivation
  • Bringing a growth mindset and having exceptional and demonstrable people leadership to drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture as a manager
  • Management or leadership experience in power generation or heavy industry (i.e., min. 5 years in a production or maintenance related role)
  • Relevant post trade qualifications (maintenance, engineering, science, or project management).
  • Experience and knowledge of the National Electricity Market and industry regulator requirements
  • Proven track record in OH&S/HS&E procedures management and compliance
  • Experience managing in an EA environment will be highly regarded
  • Setting ambitious standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; selfimposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed
  • Exceptional at establishing relationships, and relationship management skills demonstrated at all levels within and across teams
