EXPERIENCED WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR REQUIRED

The workshop supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient operation of the workshop and Welshpool facility.


Supervise the trades and semi-skilled employees to ensure the allocated duties conform to the quality, time and productivity requirements and conduct structured training on the forklift product range with a focus on our heavy Konecranes forklifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for the quality of work performed and coordination of technicians working on all equipment to meet on time delivery
  • Ensure all parts are ordered prior to commencing any scheduled work
  • Reporting job status to Service Manager and others on scheduling of work
  • Constantly monitor all cost on jobs and report as required
  • Ensure safety policy and procedures are adhered to through ongoing communication and Toolbox meetings.
  • Coordinate and deliver structured training to all workshop on the forklift product range with a strong focus on the large heavy forklifts
  • Ensure inventory/tooling available to complete on time delivery of repairs for rental and retail work
  • Ensure all related documentation is uptodate and correctly processed in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Service Manager on identifying training and skills development of the team
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement
  • Supervision of direct reports
  • Manage and coordinate on site contractors
  • Manage and coordinate all deliveries relating to Heavy forklifts into and out of the branch

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • When jobs are completed, ensure all labour, parts and other charged items are recorded on job card for invoicing customer
  • Daily time cards are completed accurately and on time
  • Assist with workshop employment/recruitment
  • Assist in the management of an harmonious environment, team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required.
  • Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace
  • Ensure equipment and tools are secure and used correctly
  • Assist in estimating potential jobs
  • Assist in performance appraisals
  • Coordinate the working of overtime for approval
  • Monitor and schedule workshop annual leave requirements
  • Monitor absenteeism and liaise with the Service Manager to address concerns

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:


  • Welldeveloped organisational and time management skills essential
  • Ability to plan, schedule and achieve set outcomes essential
  • Ability to relate to employees at all levels essential
  • Sound leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Background in similar industry and knowledge
  • Qualified background and knowledge in the mechanical stream
  • Good understanding of the OH&S principles and what is required in a workshop environment
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Sound computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills
