About the Role
Our client is a Federal Government Agency looking to engage an

APS6 Assistant Manager, Insignia and Budget or a 6 month labour hire contract with possible extension. The successful applicant will lead the Insignia and Honours Budget team to deliver a range of procurement, financial management, sales, stock control, storage, engraving and despatch services to support the Australian Honours and Awards system.

This role will require a strong administrator with organisational and project skills, an acute eye for detail, and experience with (or the ability to quickly obtain) the management of the issuing of awards.


Duties

  • Lead a team to deliver a range of procurement, financial management, sales, stock control, storage, engraving and despatch services to support the Australian Honours and Awards system including managing priorities, delegation of work, records maintenance, reporting/statistics and compliance.
  • Support the Business Services Manager to develop, promote and implement innovative and contemporary business processes and strategies to address the operational and administrative requirements.
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge of the award process and propose recommendations for continual improvements.
  • Maintain quality assurance across program and product deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly for contract management and supplier liaison.

Selection Criteria

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a procurement, financial, stock, storage, engraving and despatch management role.
  • A sound understanding of the polices of Australian Government, including the _Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013_, in particular the _Commonwealth Procurement Rules _and procurement connected policies. Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to lead a team to deliver a diverse range of tasks, set priorities and contribute to business improvement strategies within procurement, financial management, sales, stock control, storage, engraving and despatch services.
  • Strong experience in people management, and supporting staff with change in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in continuous improvements, change initiatives and capability development through highlyrefined research and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to concisely and articulately communicate complex information to a diverse range of audiences, particularly for contract management and supplier liaison.
  • Experience in maintaining documentation and quality assurance across program and product deliverables.
  • Experience in contributing to a diverse, positive and safe workplace culture.
