JOB SUMMARY:


The overall scope of the position of the Workshop Coordinator is to assist the Service department to achieve their targets by providing a high level of support.

The support provided will include ensuring materials are available at each workstation to support workshop technicians and allow service jobs to be completed on time.


The Workshop Coordinator will support the Workshop Supervisor with general administrative duties along with the physical picking, receiving, loading, and unloading, machine operation and coordination of supply from other JLG departments / external suppliers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.- Providing administrative support as required- Liaising with parts/procurement teams to ascertain availability of parts required for service jobs- Determine best freight mode to supply back order parts (in conjunction with supply lead times)- Review parts lists for availability, lead time, (ETA) and report variances back to the Workshop Supervisor Complete weekly reports for clients in relation to Major Inspections, Light Tower Refurbishments and Repair Work, attention to detail is required to ensure reporting is correct- Assist with the ordering of additional parts required by the Workshop team- Ensure parts which have already arrived for service jobs are stored in relevant areas within the workshop and communicated to workshop supervisor- Management of consumables including ordering and stock levels Work within a fast-paced environment, physically collecting / receiving parts from the warehouse and allocating to the appropriate job- Control the job card process to ensure parts are easily identifiable in the workshop location Act as an intermediary between procurement, logistics, service, and warehouse, to drive parts delivery Supporting with the raising and posting of jobs as required Working with the Workshop Supervisor to prepare service estimates in a timely manner where required- Providing support/back up to other roles within service where required- Participating and taking ownership of special projects relating to the Service Workshop when needed- Operate safely in line with work instructions, SOP's, site safety rules and JLG policies and procedures- Other duties from time to time as required


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Will have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong internal & external customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to ensure compliance with procedures and policies when working towards deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as store person and/or parts interpreter would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Previous experience with service, timeline, and work in progress reporting
  • Mechanically minded with ability to problem solve

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

  • Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Walking between aisles and departments
  • Lifting, carrying parts, and moving tubs of parts (no more than 20 kilos)
  • Operation of lifting equipment, hand tools and other mechanical aids
  • Twisting, bending, reaching
  • Use of computer
  • Manual handling
  • Sorting parts and allocating to jobs, marking parts orders for easy identification
