Whitcombe is delighted to be working with a major international solar and battery storage developer in their search for a Head of Project Development to lead the origination and development of large-scale solar and storage projects in Australia.


Based in either Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane and reporting to the GM Energy Group, this role will be responsible for driving growth and setting the development strategy for the team in key focus areas, including green and brownfield solar and energy storage.


What you will do:


  • Identify key trends in the Australian renewable energy market, including in regulatory, political, and technology fields
  • Grow and maintain a strong pipeline of largescale renewable energy projects throughout the project lifecycle (inception to NTP and beyond, as required)
  • Manage, mentor, and lead an engaged and highperforming team
  • Maximise returns for each project through collaboration with other teams and partner organisations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

About you:


  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering preferred; qualifications in finance, economics, or other commercial disciplines acceptable if supported by handson development experience
years of experience in solar PV, storage and/or renewable energy industries and project development

  • Strong knowledge of project development processes and cycles in Australia, including regulatory requirements
  • Project management qualifications highly regarded, though not required
  • Financial modelling capabilities desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of Australian OHS practices/standards
