Supervisor, Data Center Critical Facilities


The Critical Facilities Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the building and infrastructure of SY6 to minimise disruptions to customers and any potential financial impact.

They will oversee facilities, ensure adherence to operating procedures, and proactively identify and communicate risks.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Site Management: Ensuring that all onsite duties are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected.
  • People Management: Leading different personalities in the team who bring varied skills, experience, and opportunity areas.
  • Site Capacity Management: Supervising overall site capacity which include collaboration with internal and external teams.

Infrastructure Management:
Planning, coordinating, approving budgets, and implementing resources to complete projects and maintenance within the Data Centre. This includes using the Maximo Assets Management System and associated KPIs.

  • Vendor Management: Managing vendors to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPIs, and SLAs. This includes overseeing supplier contracts.
  • Testing: Ensuring correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete. Taking over new builds and building infrastructure. Approving all Method of Procedures (MOPs), scripts, and permits. Participating as part of the functional facilities engineering team across Australia.
  • Incident Management: Communicating and coordinating activities and onsite staff during complex or severe customerimpacting incidents. Driving root cause analysis, providing clear direction, and driving incident resolution.


Whilst not responsible for the SY6 budget a strong understanding of all financials and business acumen is required, the Supervisor will have a strong focus on harnessing the existing team and their strengths, ensuring they are adequately resourced and developing any frameworks required for the team.


Qualifications and key attributes:

  • Electrical/Mechanical or related Trade or Degree Qualifications
  • Technical expertise to work closely with vendors, site engineers and crossfunctional teams
  • Data Center experience and proven understanding of mission critical environments
  • Strong people management/leadership qualities and experience
