The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the dual responsibilities of managing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and being a private club, providing service and value to a 150,000 strong membership base.

The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually attracting over three million patrons and visitors.

A part-time opportunity has arisen for a professional
Governance Coordinator to join the Finance & Business Performance team based at the MCG.

Reporting to the Risk & Strategic Procurement Manager, the Governance Coordinator will provide professional support in relation to the MCC's corporate governance activities including risk management, contract management, internal audit and policies and procedures, and compliance activities.

The role will also assist with project governance and coordination of the MCC's capital works program.


Key responsibilities include assisting:

  • In all corporate governance activities including the enterprise risk management process, contract management process, internal audit, policies and procedures and compliance activities.
  • With risk management reporting to the relevant subcommittees and running of the annual risk workshop with ELT and Committee
  • With the management of the internal audit program, reporting and followup actions
  • With project governance and broader project support as required by the Executive Manager
  • Finance, Strategy & Major Projects
  • With support for Policy and Procedure oversight and compliance including monitoring review dates and coordinating policy updates


To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated experience as an administrator or similar governance/compliance role working in a busy professional environment.

Outstanding MS Office skills are essential, as well as the ability to understand and work with systems. In addition you will be highly organised and have demonstrated confidentiality and diplomacy skills.

This role requires a strong attention to detail, a delivery focus, and great customer service skills with a sense of pride in your work and team output.


In addition you will have:

  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
  • Positive attitude/approach proactive, willing to learn, cooperative, enquiring mind, willing to support others in challenging/busy periods
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to problem solve efficiently and courteously
  • Experience in preparation of formal reports
  • Ability to confidently and competently deal with all levels of staff and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks/projects on time

Desirable:

  • A teritary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in a broad governance/compliance and/or internal audit role.
