About our Team
Future Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Program Office (FISRSPO) is the acquisition agency for leading edge ISR capability. We acquire, integrate and transition into service capabilities which provide the joint force with a warfighting advantage.

Whilst FISRSPO is currently responsible for AIR7000 Ph1B MQ-4C Triton Remotely Piloted Aircraft System acquisition and its introduction to service, there will be future projects coming through the pipeline, aligned with the Defence Integrated Program of Works.

These projects are scheduled to commence between 2025 and 2028.

The materiel we acquire includes crewed and un-crewed aerial systems and ground control segments, training systems, and associated infrastructure and support systems.

FIRSPO is also responsible for the integration of all elements of the Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), to ensure seamless transition to service of the acquired capability, enabling achievement of Initial Operational Capability (IOC), and Final Operational Capability (FOC) on time and on budget.

FISRSPO is a matrixed organisation comprising functional areas of Engineering, Logistic, Business and Project Management Units structured to manage multiple acquisition projects, each at varying stages of the One Defence Capability Life Cycle.

This structure enables us to focus professional development on the maintenance of skills and knowledge while providing strong leadership in core functional areas of expertise.

FISRPO is an integrated workplace with approximately 60-combined ADF, APS and contracted personnel.

As an organisation committed to flexible work practices, FISRSPO has a number of personnel who work remotely or are on flexible work arrangements.

Ultimately FISRSPO is committed to supporting an innovative workforce which can add value through their:

  • Nuanced understanding of ISR capabilities and how they are utilised to create joint effects.
  • Awareness and knowledge of the national innovation ecosystem and industrial base, which enables FISRSPO to provide leading edge ISR technology.
  • Knowledge and experience in acquiring strategic technology from the US and UK through cooperative arrangements.
  • Acquiring and integrating capability solutions, which seamlessly integrate with the joint force and key coalition partners.
  • Understanding of the aerospace regulatory frameworks for safe operation of ISR capabilities and are comfortable working with ADF regulatory bodies to drive change to accommodate emerging technology.
  • Ability to optimise resources (people, facilities, and budget) and risks.
  • Commitment to people's wellbeing, development, career aspirations, and values.
