The Role

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity to join our Line 1 Risk team as a Risk and Controls Consultant.

In this role, you will support the Head of and Risk and Control Managers through the following activities:

Facilitating the implementation of relevant risk and compliance deliverables, work closely with the teams across Individual Insurance, Group and Operations and other key stakeholders to deliver and embed into the relevant function
Assisting in ensuring business functions are educated and supported on their Risk and compliance obligations
Assisting Line 1 teams in to actively manage product, contractual, legislative obligations;
Assisting and support Line 1 teams to effectively implement the MLC Life Risk Management Framework;
Modelling a strong risk management culture across the business, through advocacy of and use of Line 2 tools, templates and techniques;
Partnering with Line 1 teams across the business to promote adherence to Line 2 risk management framework and guidelines;
Engaging with Line 1 teams as to the effectiveness of their processes and controls, including practical support in the development and execution of controls testing plans.

About You

Degree qualifications in a businessrelated field, or equivalent extensive insurance experience.
Experience in an insurance, risk management or compliance role
Knowledge of adviser and customer behaviour
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and resolve issues
Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously, in order to achieve planned goals and objectives
Ability to work under pressure whilst continuing to make effective decisions
Highly developed verbal, written, presentation and persuasion skills
