Research Assistant


Position Description:

This position is responsible for providing support to the research function in the Sydney office.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for coordinating research activities (eg Travel, expenses, Event coordination, Research Subscriptions management) and maintaining sound working relationships with colleagues and other outside parties.

Other responsibilities may include data collection, report and presentation preparation, and assisting Research Analysts with other ad hoc projects as required.

The Research Assistant's role is an integral part of the Australian Research team's success.

The position requires effective teamwork contribution in the form of proactive team support, communication of issues that require action or that may contribute to the team's development, and providing support for each other.


Key Areas of Responsibilities:


  • Arrange business travel and itineraries for all staff undertaking domestic or international trips, coordinating with other CLSA office travel staff as required.
  • Processing expense claims and collection of receipts, and undertaking verification of claims and adherence to all policies.
  • Assist the corporate access team with event coordination, invitations, name tags, binding of corporate presentations.
  • Assist with office management tasks as required.
  • Assist with any other ad hoc administration tasks (including data entry) as required.
  • Assist Research Analysts and the Head of Research
  • Australia in compiling and presenting information.
  • Prepare presentation materials in PowerPoint and other electronic and paper base formats.
  • Maintain sound working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 2+ years of office management or related experience.
  • Financial services experience preferred though not a prerequisite.
  • Proficient using Microsoft office packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills (both written and verbal).
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Professional presentation at all times for a front of house role which includes interactions with our highly valued clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and relationship management skills.
  • Motivated individual who wants to develop their skills and career in financial services.
