About the Role


The Delivery workstream is responsible for ensuring the overall readiness of DTP to deliver the new ticketing solution in Victoria.

This includes ensuring that DTP and the service contractor are delivering to project milestones, facilitating communications between the service providers and key stakeholders, and overseeing the on-time implementation and delivery of the ticketing solution.


The Delivery Manager - Metro and Regional Rail is responsible for overseeing site activities by the Contractor and facilitating any access or interface activities between the Contractor and DTP in all rail sites across the state.

The Delivery Manager (Rail) reports to the Program Manager (Rail).


Position Outcomes

  • Engaged with operators to obtain access procedures and has facilitated the processes for the Contractor to deliver project activities on site within agreed timeframes.
  • Effectively identified and responded to risks and opportunities using a system thinking approach, understanding the impact of decisions on their own work area and the project workstream.
  • Managed critical site issues that impact on interface activities between the Contractor and DTP. Has managed and resolved complex interface issues, advised and escalated matters which impact the delivery of the project
  • Validated all contractor activities on site, including site records and Contractor reports; has identified and managed emerging issues to ensure compliance with DTP requirements including site access, device installation and testing.
  • Ensured the work organisation, planning and outputs required of the work area, including managing and leading more complex projects activities, are delivered effectively and on time.
  • Effectively managed internal and external stakeholders to gain commitment to rail activities/outcomes; including effective site planning artefact development and adoption by key internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and role specific requirements

Mandatory:


  • Public transport experience, either directly or overseeing activities of a service contractor
  • Experience interacting with contractors on site and managing site issues
  • Relevant experience in managing high budgeted projects.

Desirable:


  • A relevant tertiary qualification in transportation engineering, construction management or project management is highly regarded
