About this opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overall safe supervision of the maintenance team at PACT's Cheltenham dairy and beverage plastic packaging production site.

As Maintenance Team Leader, you will maintain systems and equipment by assisting and assigning tasks to the maintenance team to complete preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities to restore, repair or by replacing faulty and inoperative facilities or equipment.

In addition, you will assist the Maintenance Manager with planning and scheduling works and delivering site-based continuous improvement and waste reduction activities.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies and critical spares required for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel under guidance or in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure an orderly and clean engineering work area is maintained.
  • Maintain MEX system to supervise service requests.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Scope and procure appropriate maintenance spare parts and other associated materials or service requirements.
  • Safely and efficiently complete service requests.
  • Conduct proper followthrough on critical maintenance issues, including assisting in root cause analysis.
  • Provide trade support on maintenance activities, as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, as required.
  • Participate in waste reduction activities as required.
  • Participate in company training and conduct skills assessments, as required.
  • Train staff and assist with assessment, as required.
  • Ensure maintenance team compliance to company safety and security standards, procedures and policies.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Trade Qualification:

Either Fitter or Electrician, experience leading a maintenance team as well as (ideally) knowledge of the process for the manufacture of plastic packaging including an understanding of the equipment.

MEX Experience and SAP Experience will be highly regarded.
