Join the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Registrar or Resident Medical Officer in their Emergency Department in 2024

You will have the opportunity to work across 2 ACEM accredited training sites.

  • Flinders Medical Centre ED
  • Noarlunga Hospital ED


Flinders Medical Centre is a Major Referral Centre, is a Level 1 Trauma Centre for Adults, and the only Obstetric Trauma Centre in the state.

The Emergency Department also has a co-located Paediatric Emergency Department with opportunity to work paediatric ED shifts, or undertake dedicated paediatric ED placements.

For ED Registrars, there are rotations available to ICU and Anaesthetics, and there are ACEM accredited Special Skills Posts available in:

  • Simulation/Education
  • Ultrasound
Noarlunga Hospital Emergency Department is a Non-Major Referral Centre.

It sees approximately 43,000 presentations per year, has a dedicated space for paediatric presentations and a co-located ED short-stay unit.


In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of integrated patient care activities, with assistance and guidance from ED Registrars/Consultants.

Your duties will include acting as a role model and mentor for medical students and interns, ensuring effective communication with other care providers to promote continuity of care, providing appropriate clinical care to patients and coordinating the follow up care of patients.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have successfully completed one year of Internship, basic but developing skills appropriate to emergency medicine, the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues, other professional staff and patients, and commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families.


This role operates on a roster with a 10 hour shift pattern across Early, Late and Night shifts, 365 days per year.

Full-time position will be 8x10hr shifts per fortnight. Part-time and flexible work arrangements available and encouraged.
