Tax Analyst - Funds Management


Our client is an ASXđlisted alternative asset manager which invests in high conviction and scalable real asset strategies on behalf of individuals, large institutions and super funds.

They are uniquely positioned to generate strong returns for investors by focussing on high conviction investment opportunities across sectors exposed to long term growth trends.

They have a demonstrated track record of successfully executing large complex transactions.


The business currently manages over $5.8 billion of external AUM via its three funds, and is on track and capitalised to grow external AUM to $10bn+ by 2024.


The Role:

Due to expansion of the group, this role is newly created.

Reporting to the Head of Shared Services, the key accountabilities of the role will be:


  • Preparation and review of the quarterly distribution tax calculations for 5 funds (2 listed and 3 unlisted),
  • Preparation of the annual income tax returns for the individual trusts within each fund,
  • Preparation of monthly BAS for each fund,
  • Review of other corporate taxes such as FBT, PAYG.
  • Assistance with audit activities,
  • Assistance with the implementation and role out of a new tax compliance system including: streamlining processes, process improvement and control documentation,
  • Engaging with external quantitative surveyors to provide tax depreciation reports,
  • Registration of new entities for tax compliance upon launching of new funds and acquisition of new properties,
  • Future growth opportunities include engagement with external advisors on structuring.
  • 24 years' experience in tax working either within a Big4 or Top 10 Accounting firm or inhouse within the financial services or realestate industry,
  • Must have trusts experience from a Tax Compliance perspective,
  • Relevant degree qualified,
  • CA/CPA/Masters of Tax qualified or equivalent or studying towards,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must
