Position Information:

Biddabah Public School is a dynamic and future-focused school located in the Lake Macquarie North group of schools. Of the school's 333 students in 2024, 4% are Indigenous. The school works purposefully and innovatively to improve learning outcomes for its students.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary


  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a leadership role which builds the capacity of individuals, teams and whole school staff, with a focus on school priorities and targets.
  • Proven ability to use data informed practices to lead and strengthen Teaching and Learning whilst building the capacity of colleagues through the provision of high-quality professional learning with an emphasis on curriculum reform.
  • Open, visible and approachable leadership with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, which engages and inspires staff to work as part of a collaborative team building positive authentic relationships within an inclusive school community.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
