Our client


Our client is a highly regarded institution in the Melbourne landscape committed to female leadership and empowering women to be the absolute best version of themselves.

They are a membership body, committed to supporting communities, education and environment and have an impressive membership base.


The role
This newly created role of Head of Communications and Member Experience reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, you'll be highly visible to members, engaging and supportive of organisational growth and be excited by the potential of the premises and events that can be promoted and supported.

You will be data and insights driven, have an inspirational view on how to work closely with the Board and ELT to drive the organisation to great heights.


You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Team management
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Developing and delivering membership strategies to drive different demographics
  • Write and develop content for weekly and monthly publications
  • Project management the delivery of a new website
  • Develop innovative communication channels to reach members of all backgrounds and stages of life
  • Budget management

To be successful in the role, you will have the following skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or similar
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across traditional and digital communications channels
  • Outstanding presentation
  • Willingness to adapt and change to present and deliver membership and communications strategies
  • Flexbility in the way you choose to work
  • A genuine interest in getting to know your members, their interests and their ambitions
  • A pragmatic and commercial approach to your role and the organisation
  • Ability to attend events that can be out of hours
  • Some understanding of hospitality is advantageous
  • Ideally you will come from a member association or potentially independent school environment
