Brunel is partnering with a prestigious player in the energy sector to recruit an experienced Development Manager (Wind) for their Melbourne office.

This role is crucial for spearheading the growth of an expanding portfolio of onshore wind projects in Australia.

About this role

Leading wind projects from midstage to FID, focusing on planning, environmental aspects, resource assessment, grid connection, and design and procurement.
Developing and implementing strategies, budgets, and risk matrices for project delivery.
Serving as a key interface with partners and stakeholders throughout the project development phase.
Assessing utilityscale renewable generation opportunities, with a focus on wind energy.
Managing primary and secondary consents to ensure project approvals.
Building and maintaining relationships with landholders and engaging with local communities.
Contracting and overseeing external consultants for critical development areas.
Supporting the broader decarbonisation strategy of the organization.

About you

Experience in wind farm development or related fields (wind engineering, statutory planning, environmental planning).
Demonstrated ability in wind project delivery, including securing approvals and managing stakeholder relationships.
Skilled in managing budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
Familiarity with the energy markets in Australia.
Relevant academic qualification (e.g., engineering, finance, environmental studies, planning).
Excellent communication skills.
Drive and ambition to lead renewable growth and energy transition.
