Position description:

We seek enthusiastic
Technical Officers to join our Histology department in
Macquarie Park.
You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:


  • Perform routine histology procedures including microtomy (tissue sectioning) and embedding and preparing highquality slides for staining and analysis.
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Adhering to standard laboratory protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and highquality results.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise

We are looking for the following:

  • Graduated with a Medical Science Degree or recognised AIMS equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 year's experience in a histology/anatomy lab or highly knowledgeable in histological processes, histological instruments and laboratory equipment
  • Open to working either:
  • Part time Saturday and Sunday with flexible hours
  • Fulltime (Weekdays and Weekends): Wednesday to Sunday or Saturday to Wednesday. Weekday hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with flexible weekend hours.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
