Your team - Queensland Law Reform Commission

The Queensland Law Reform Commission is an independent statutory body established under the Law Reform Commission Act 1968.


The QLRC aims to meet the needs of the Queensland community by reviewing areas of the law in need of reform and making recommendations for reform.

These recommendations are based on extensive research, public consultation, and the principles of impartiality, equity and social justice. The QLRC has five part-time members, led by a full-time chair who is President of the Land Court. The QLRC is supported by a Secretariat comprising the Executive Director, the Director, three Principal Legal Officers, two Senior Legal Officers, two Legal Officers, the Manager, Communications and Engagement, the Business Manager, and a part-time Administrative Officer

About the role
The Administrative Officer provides professional administrative support to the Business Manager of the Queensland Law Reform Commission.


Key responsibilities:


  • Provide reliable, accurate and timely administrative support to the Business Manager and senior officers of the Commission, and provide executive assistance to the Executive Director and Chair
  • Complete accounts payable duties, reconciling invoices, updating spreadsheets, ensuring payments are made accurately and in a timely manner and other duties as required in accordance with needs of the Commission
  • Support legal officers with preparation of documents including collating and organising the delivery of meeting material to Commission members and reports to the Attorney-General and Table Office as required
  • Maintaining current office systems (both manually and computerised) including archiving, filing, scanning, updating protocol lists and lists generally on a daily basis;
  • Attend to visitors to the Commission reception and answer telephone calls and written correspondence from other agencies and the public, redirecting or answering enquiries where appropriate
