Ventia have been awarded significant works on the
NBN N2P Evolution contract across Australia.

We are seeking to engage an energetic Field Supervisor with experience in civil works and a sound understanding of telecommunications networks to be part of the team driving this initiative in the WA region.- Reporting to the Area Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the
Field Supervisor - Telecommunications, is to oversee and direct a team of multi-disciplined trade-based personnel with specific focus on FTTC (Fiber to the Curb) installations and construction activities.

The role will operate from the Canning Vale, Perth office and will offer opportunities to travel across site locations in WA, as required.

About the Role

  • Conduct construction walkouts, planning, scoping and activities to ensure that site works can be constructed, efficiently in accordance with the construction plans and delivery schedule
  • Lead and manage a team of subcontractors in construction activities of the approved site works
  • Engage with and brief subcontractors on their scope of works for construction, escalating any issues to the Area Supervisor/Superintendent
  • Liaise with the Client to obtain approval and Sequence Numbers for Construction Changes
  • Escalate and address all resource requirements and shortages with the Area Supervisor/Superintendent
  • Liaise with Site Engineers to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction activities and escalate any critical stock deficiencies to the Area Supervisor/Superintendent
  • Supervising the removal of asbestos material in accordance with safety standards
  • Comply with all warehousing processes and procedures to safeguard the accurate and timely assignment and management of stock issue and returns
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel

About You

  • Solid understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and construction processes Telecommunication (Telstra/NBN) knowledge is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in construction or telecommunications role
  • Ability to read and understand Telstra and NBN plans
  • Civil Background i.e. previous experience working with Directional Drills, Ploughing, Open Trenching, ACM Removal, Pit, Pipe and optic fibre installation
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel across Western Australia on a FIFO / DIDO roster as well as local work when required
  • Ability to obtain a clear police clearance or provide one that is less than 12 months validity
