Your day as an Associate Director Accounting Policy
Your typical day-to-day work will involve a wide range of tasks in promoting best practice financial and sustainability reporting in the NSW public sector, including:

  • Research for, and development of, policies and guidelines;
  • Preparation and review of technical accounting advice;
  • Preparation and delivery of training;
  • Assisting agencies implement Accounting Standards and Treasury policies;
  • Preparation of submissions to standard setters, including the Australian Accounting Standards Board.


You will also be responsible providing advice on the preparation of the State's consolidated financial statements and significant complex transactions.


This role requires extensive engagement with other NSW Treasury teams, NSW Government agencies, the Audit Office of NSW, state and Commonwealth counterparts and standard setters.
