Position Information:

Bardia Public School is a unique K-6 school, situated in South West Sydney. We are a growing school with an enrolment of approximately 1000 students. The school has a positive school culture underpinned by three core values, achievement, belonging and care.

Through our school's core values, we strive to prepare all students to become passionate, curious learners who demonstrate persistence, responsibility, kindness and acceptance.


There is a strong culture of engagement due to high quality teaching and learning programs, catering for individual needs, and a supportive school community.

Bardia Public School has a Support Unit for students with additional needs. There are two Autism and two Autism IO classes.

72% of our students have a language background other than English and 3% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary,

  • An open, inclusive and inspiring leader with high emotional intelligence to genuinely engage and build strong, authentic connections with our school community to deliver and maintain school excellence
  • High level instructional leadership to drive school strategic planning and evaluation
  • Proven ability to harness and foster leadership capacity and development, building effective teams and enriching the school's existing high expectations culture
  • Capacity to manage complex and competing priorities while nurturing a culture of achievement, belonging and care for continuous school improvement

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
