    • Base Salary $100,717 – $107, % superannuation

    About the opportunity

    The Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics conducts health policy research, analysis, advice and education. The Centre's focus is on improving public health outcomes through policy innovation and practical implementation.

    We are looking for a Research Associate to support a number of health economic and policy research projects, which primarily arise from Category 1 funded research grants. They will manage and conduct research and/or scholarly activities under the limited supervision of senior academic staff, either independently or as part of a research team.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • project manage research projects
    • work closely with internal and external stakeholders
    • contribute to qualitative, health economic and policy research
    • conduct literature searches using relevant databases and software
    • contribute to the writing and submission of research publications and reports
    • undertake data analysis, including statistical analyses
    • contribute to research development and capacity building activities
    • assist with the preparation of grant submissions and tenders
    • assist with management of research governance protocols and processes including liaising with ethics committees.

    About you

    You will:

    • hold a relevant Masters degree eg. Public Health or Health Policy (&/or working towards or completed a PhD in a field related to public health)
    • have excellent organizational and time management skills
    • have experience with mixed methods research
    • have an excellent working knowledge of research ethics and governance processes
    • have a good understanding and experience of research project management
    • posess high quality systematic literature searching skills.

    Desirable criteria

    • have previous experience working in health system, not for profit or state/ federal Government settings
    • have experience in writing reports and publications
    • have experience supporting research grant writing
    • have experience in qualitative, quantitative and/or statistical analyses
    • have experience working in a research intensive environment.
