Description
We currently seeking an experienced procurement professional to work in various local and state government departments. This is for an immediate start.

This position will be temporary, up to 6 months and based in the CBD.


General Responsibilities:


  • Provide handson management expertise and advice on complex procurement matters
  • Analyse demand and spend data, working with group and division managers to identify requirements and opportunities for cost savings and supply chain optimisation
  • Ensure procurement advice is consistent with relevant legislations and regulations
  • Maintain, innovate & disseminate procurement policies and procedures.
  • Identify, develop, and implement strategic improvement practices, systems, and procedures to deliver best practice in procurement.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain forward procurement planning identify synergies across the emergency services sector.

Your Experience:


  • The management of endtoend procurement with an emphasis on partnering with stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Provide procurement, tendering, contract management and probity advice to staff at all levels across the organisation
  • Assist with the development of procurement plans
  • Record and data management of tendering and contract related documentation
  • Endtoend coordination of the tendering function from review of RFQ/RFT documents through the tender evaluation through to contract execution
  • Ability to seek continuous improvement and refinement of a procurement framework tailored to staff needs.

Desirable:

  • 2+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Attention to detail.
