Our Service Hub in Beenleigh offers Counselling, Case Management and group facilitation to provide ongoing support for people on their journey to recovery.

We aim to provide our clients with a safe and comfortable environment where skilled clinicians support them in developing their own road to recovery.


Your opportunity
This is a part time, maximum term contract to August 2024, working 30.4 hours per week.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $47.50 to $49.65 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications, and access to salary packaging as a Not for Profit organisation is available as well.


As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager, you'll engage and support your clients in their ongoing management, Individual and group-based counselling and treatment of AOD dependency and other associated factors, supporting clients with entry and exit from residential treatment when required.

You'll advocate for them, celebrate with them when they achieve their goals, and help to develop their capacity and confidence via both in person and phone contact, guided by evidence-based practice.


Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide high-quality engagement, assessment, counselling, case management and support services to clients and their families.
  • Develop, facilitate and evaluate therapeutic group programs aimed at achieving client readiness for AOD residential treatment
  • Manage a caseload of clients with varying levels of complexity, providing counselling support, service coordination, referral, and advocacy to assist in achieving their goals.
  • Actively support the development of client capacity and community support groups for clients who wish to enter and are exiting residential treatment

What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling or mental health (or related discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups.
  • Experience in evidencebased modalities, including relapse prevention.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise clinical and administrative duties, including the effective and efficient planning and organisation of a complex caseload
  • A National Criminal History Check, along with a Working with Children Check (e.g. Blue Card).
