About the Role

A rare opportunity to take carriage of our depot currently being built in Maidstone as Depot Design Manager has become available.

Reporting to our experienced Fleet Manager, this position is accountable for the design and prepare for the operations to ensure this depot and its' equipment and fit out is functional, effective and safe.

This position has a variety of activities that will evolve over the course of the build but some responsibilities include;
- choosing and liaising with indirect suppliers and supply team, project buyers and internal stakeholders to facilitate purchases and contracts for equipment
- ensure alignment between contractual requirements and the depot design
- developing and maintaining a depot maintenance strategy and plan
- overseeing the tagging and testing of equipment
- write and update depot based operational and traffic management plans
- coordinate with all necessary parties to deliver the depot equipment training plan in conjunction with the appropriate stakeholders.


What we are looking for;
- an understanding of the workings of a rail, heavy vehicle or industrial maintenance depot
- general experience in facilities, fleet, asset or depot management
- an autonomous, experienced professional with strong communication skills
- basic IT skills and ability to read and understand drawings and contracts
- a calm, unflappable nature who enjoys interacting with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers
- a natural promoter of a safe, inclusive and engaged team culture and operational environment.
