The role:

Glencore Zinc Assets Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join our Regional Finance team.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane, Australia.


This role will be part of the regional financial governance and assurance function that encompasses all of Glencore's Zinc Assets Australia sites, including Mount Isa mining operations, McArthur River Mining, smelting and refining operations, and the Port of Townsville.


Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of the UK Corporate Reform (UKCR) requirements
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and project implementation partners to ensure UKCR tasks are completed as agreed
  • Lead change management initiatives from an internal control compliance perspective
  • Review process maps and risk/control documentation to ensure robust financial controls are embedded in processes impacting financial results
  • Monitor and ensure timely and effective remediation of control deficiencies
  • Establish plan to review and monitor the execution of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Oversee execution of the annual financial assurance plan
  • Perform financial risk assessments on key projects
  • Adhoc projects as assigned

The successful applicant will have:


  • 5+ years experience working in the mining and smelting/refining industries
  • 5+ years experience in an Accounting/Finance function
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Commerce / Business
  • CA / CPA qualification
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to act and operate independently with mínimal daily direction
