About the role

Mater Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a
Production Assistant to join the team at South Brisbane on a
permanent
part-time basis 2 days per week, Thursday and Friday.

Mater Health Services, South East Queensland comprises a unique collection of two public and four private hospitals caring for over 500,000 patients each year.

Mater Pharmacy services all inpatient areas, so this represents a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of this community and to contribute to a strong, unified, inter-professional Clinical Services team at Mater.

Mater Pharmacy, Production Services are responsible for the timely manufacture and delivery of a diverse range of high quality, specialised sterile (including cytotoxic) and non-sterile pharmaceutical products for Mater Health Services and other Queensland institutions, utilising purpose-built on-site manufacturing facilities.

Salary range:
$ $31.12 per hour (Operational Level plus superannuation as per Mater Operational Employees' Enterprise Agreement

What you'll be doing

In this role you will be:

Preparing and manufacturing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products
Maintaining up to date knowledge of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice and compliance with established policy and procedures for maintaining a safe, secure and efficient production service.
Maintaining required aseptic production competencies by successfully performing annual aseptic technique validation and completion of Chemo Check
Participating in quality improvement activities to improve product quality to all clients
Performing other duties as directed by the Team Leader Production Services
Participating in the oncall roster to provide services at weekends and evenings when required

About you
To be successful in this role, applicants must have:

Professional, hardworking attitude and willing to work cooperatively and effectively with all team members
A professional attitude, effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
Previous experience in pharmaceutical compounding and working in clean room environment will be highly regarded
Availability to participate in on call services (roughly 1 week a month)
