About the Role
Santos has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts and Estimation Team Lead based in our Brisbane operations.

Reporting to the Manager of Program Execution, this key position will develop and lead a team of project professionals to deliver estimation and post-award contract management support to the CAPEX development program in compliance with the Santos processes and procedures.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the development of project and programme estimates of approximately $1B AUD in value.
  • Support post award management of long term contracts with a total annual value of $500M.
  • Lead and facilitate the development of work scopes, rates schedules and estimates for Pre-FID and Post-Contract programs and projects in all phases
  • Administer and provide advice on all contractual obligations and deliverables for project contracts post execution.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor teams, support personal development, set and assess individual KPIs.
  • Champion and implement systems and standard practices required to effectively manage contracts, control cost and schedule.
  • Proactively contribute to Santos' continuous improvement and innovative project management processes.
  • Provide input into additional scope of work including assessing associated costs and risk.
  • Review, assess and coordinate monthly progress claims, relevant invoices and prepare and execute progress payment certificates.
  • Ensures compliance with and adherence to standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with Company's environmental, and health & safety vision and policies and standards.
  • About You
  • Degree qualifications in Engineering, Business or Construction Management with extensive experience in Onshore Wells and Gathering.
  • Competent in Commercial Contracts Management and Negotiation experience with expertise in leading high value and complex contractual programs
  • Strong working knowledge in interpreting legislation with regards to Australian contract law.
  • Knowledge of contemporary contract management and contract forms, NEC4;
  • Confident in building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships internally and externally, including cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated effective time management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach in meeting business demands.
  • Resources and tierone operator experience is beneficial but not essential.
