About the role


As a Business Development Manager for Porter's, you will source and secure profitable sales growth of Porter's Paints in Trade channels in Sydney CBD and Canberra region.


Reporting to the Porter's Sales & Marketing Manager, this role is focused on building partnerships with architects, builders, and commercial painters to ensure that Porter's products are specified, and that the specification is held to project completion and actively target competitor specifications.


This role will also operate across the state Trade network and influence key people such as our Trade Stores and Commercial Team for the benefit of Porter's Paints and DuluxGroup.


Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing opportunities to grow sales in your territory
  • Project Manage from specification to tender, with architect, builder and painting contractor
  • Create tailored coatings specifications that are technically correct and appropriate for property condition
  • Write and develop valued project specifications
  • Build relationships with key industry bodies and professional networks to generate market intelligence, specification opportunities and contractor engagement

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated sales, business development and/or account management background, ideally in specification, commercial construction, or commercial painting sectors
  • Research skills including ability to understand market and opportunities
  • Experience using CRM systems for analysis, reporting and planning and a thorough understanding of how to use data to drive business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability work across various levels
  • A great team player with the ability to selfmanage
