Key Responsibilities

  • Report to a senior design manager and lead the transformation, development and upgrade of campuses and facilities
  • Lead and influence the strategic outlook of campus environments and facilities for learning, teaching and research
  • Negotiate and influence change with key internal stakeholders
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to achieve milestones, specifications and deadlines through brief determination, stakeholder liaison, services coordination, client discussion and review presentations
  • Manage teams to achieve excellence in performance

Skills and Experience

  • Architectural or related qualifications
  • 610 years relevant experience including past experience preparing drawings and and presentations
  • Preparation of presentation materials using Indesign and other graphic software
  • This role will not require architectural documentation but past experience undertaking documentation will be valuable
  • Experience at planning and refiguring of spaces
  • Experience within a large complex organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of projects from design, client liaison, needs analysis, brief development, project scoping, preparation of functional design briefs and concept plans, consultant and contractor engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing documentation and specification of building services
  • Ability to work successfully and interact positively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate and build relationships across organisations
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and establish appropriate contractor KPIs
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral communication, presentation and written skills
  • Attention to detail, preparation of reports and communication material for internal and external parties
  • Commitment to design excellence
  • ArchiCAD / Autocad preferred

Misty worked in her early career as a registered architect and then a practice manager. She brings over 18 years' experience within the industry. She has worked for small and large practices including eight years as practice manager at Bates Smart.

She has used her extensive knowledge to advise and support leading firms and government agencies in Sydney on their recruitment requirements.

Misty is now mainly focused on senior/ strategic appointments.
