What's the role?


Reporting to the Head of Digital Publishing Services, you will own the end-to-end delivery and operation of a variety of digital publishing tools that are used to enhance and enrich News Corp Australia's digital network that reaches over 14 million visitors across 70 digital titles.


You will be the focal point for the strategy, management and delivery of digital publishing tools & platforms across commenting, content workflows, deep editorial interactives and tools, and personalisation.

You will work closely with our editorial content producers, internal IT platform teams, delivery management, third party vendors and our digital product teams, thus ensuring that the business can evolve and enhance the platforms to support the organisation's current and future business strategies.

In conjunction with stakeholders, you will lay down strategic direction for each platform then lead a blended team of on and offshore developers and QA to deliver on your vision.


  • Inspire your team of on and off shore developers to deliver best in class digital publishing tools
  • Drive innovation by working with Product Owners to lay down strategies across both projects and BAU, and then deliver on those agreed strategies
  • Form a deep understanding of business priority and own the backlog for each platform
  • Establish a continuous cycle of platform improvements that enhance reliability and operation
  • Manage vendor relationships down to a contractual level
  • Manage platform budgets
  • Handle incident management

Skills and Experience:


  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Project and change management experience in software development required
  • Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in Agile & Scrum methodologies
  • A deep, demonstrated understanding of delivering digital solutions using Agile processes and methodologies, especially Scrum
  • Stakeholder communication & management
  • Delivery management
  • Experience building technologybased platforms
