Description


As the Chief of Staff for DFR, you will bring your expertise providing high-level administrative support and situational awareness to the senior executive team and overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives.

No day will ever be the same in this position with some of the duties including:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide highlevel administrative support and situational awareness to the senior executive team, including the MD and Deputy MD by organizing meetings, and overseeing the preparation of incoming and outgoing correspondence, communications and presentations.
  • Provide situational awareness for the senior executive team.
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the organization, including managing executive administrative staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, overseeing security and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Responsible for the Security, Communications and Change outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with the senior executive team, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize competing demands for the MD and DMD and ensure that all resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as a liaison between the senior executive team and other departments, stakeholders, and external partners, representing the organization in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Analyse and interpret data to inform decisionmaking and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the senior executive team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Profile

To be considered, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, management, or public administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and regulations governing the organization's operations, as well as best practices in organizational management and leadership.
  • Experience working in or with the Australian Defence Organisation would be an advantage.
