Based at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW, Airbus Australia Pacific is seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Safety Specialist to join the Safety Systems team.

This safety role will provide support to the deeper level maintenance program on the C-130 Hercules platform, working closely with our Programs and Operational staff.

About the role

As the Safety Specialist, you will work to ensure the Airbus Australia Pacific Safety Management System is implemented effectively and will provide specialist advice and support in identifying and managing risks.

You will provide support to management to identify, implement and enhance new and existing safety initiatives and ensure Airbus's Safety Culture is maintained whilst ensuring compliance to safety legislation, contract deliverables and ISO conformance.

As this position is an operational support position, flexible working arrangements will be taken into consideration and discussed on a case-by-case basis.

This position also includes a rotational on-call requirement for after-hours emergencies/serious incidents, interstate travel as required, moderate physical exertion and the requirement to use personal protective equipment (PPE).

The following qualifications, skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Advanced MS Word and Excel skills
  • Lead auditor qualification
The following qualifications, skills and experience are desirable, however are not essential:

  • Current Working at heights and Confined Space Certification
  • ICAM Investigator certification
  • First Aid and Fire Warden certifications
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Previous experience working in Defence, Emergency Services or Aviation industry


Applicants must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.
